Session Description: 

Building genuine connections goes far beyond exchanging business cards. It's about sharing real experiences, supporting one another through meaningful introductions, pitch feedback, or simply opening doors. This interactive session is designed to create a safe space for founders and ecosystem members to connect, learn about each other's businesses, share personal stories, and explore how authenticity can become a powerful tool in building lasting professional relationships.

About The Speaker:

Irene (she/they) is an accomplished Director at StartOut, a leading national nonprofit accelerating LGBTQ+ entrepreneurship. Irene oversees research and insights on queer entrepreneurs’ impact on the United States economy. Irene has spoken about LGBTQ entrepreneurship at the US Census Bureau, the Department of Commerce, and other organizations and foundations. 

Prior to StartOut, Irene gained extensive experience managing programs at Google and CBS Interactive. She also advises the nonprofit project Nice Queer Pals, a sober-friendly space that cultivates community through sports and outdoor activities. Irene holds dual BA's in Economics and Psychology from the University of California - Berkeley, and a Product Management certification from the Haas School of Business.
