Session Description: Have you heard the rumor that if you are a business owner you will never qualify for a mortgage? While it's true that there are some differences in applying for a mortgage when you are self-employed, it is also true that you can plan to reach your home buying goal! Whether you are seeking your first home, trading up, looking for a vacation home, or looking towards an investment purchase, we will go over some important planning considerations and things you'll want to know to set yourself up for home buying success. We will also go over some of the barriers LGBTQ people face when thinking about buying a home and how best to overcome them.

About The Speaker: Percy Wise (he/him) is a transgender mortgage loan officer licensed in Oregon and Washington. He is an experienced and detail oriented professional, having successfully closed over 175 loans for a diverse array of clients. He excels at working with self-employed and creative professionals. He is also a graduate of Lewis and Clark Law School, one of the first openly transgender people admitted to the Oregon State Bar, and is a recipient of the Oregon State Bar Diversity Champions Award.
